Union Square compete in aid of BRACE

Union Square is excited to announce that this summer the company is entering a team of brave individuals into the Nottingham Water Wipeout Extreme Obstacle Race in aid of charity.  They will be fundraising on behalf of Brace Alzheimer’s Foundation which is based in Bristol.  Brace is a registered charity that funds research into Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia.  The illness currently affects over 800,000 people in the UK and most people have a family member or friend who has been affected by it.  But research into this cause is massively underfunded, only receiving a fraction of what is spent per patient on cancer research.  The money the team manages to raise will go towards research into curing this debilitating disease and also towards the treatment of those already diagnosed.

The event the team have picked to challenge themselves is taking place on the 20th of June at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham, the location used by the best in the 2012 Olympics no less!  The team will be confronted with pools of mud, vertical wall climbs, fire pits and a whole host of other gruelling obstacles.  All this is set over a 10 kilometre course on what is sure to be a sweltering hot summer’s day, testing the team to their limits.

Fundraising efforts are now well underway in preparation for the event, so if you’re feeling generous, any contributions will be very much appreciated by everyone involved, just follow the link to donate!

Rest assured there will be a full update after the event with details and pictures of the mud soaked team!
